| meet dr. oh |
In 1991, Dr. Oh founded the Oh Family Chiropractic Center, Inc. in Federal Way, WA. Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Dr. Oh got his bachelor's degree in marine biology from Inha University in Incheon, Korea before coming to America in 1984 to continue his study.
Dr. Oh, however, developed a painful neck condition known as “Torticollis.” In his case, it came on suddenly. The pain in his neck was so intense that he couldn’t turn, bend forward, backward, or sideways. This problem became so bad that driving his car over even a slight bump caused pain in his neck and shoulder. After trying the whole myriad of medicine and acupuncture (those were the only options he knew, as his mother was a practicing pharmacist and acupuncturist in Korea), which didn’t help, he decided to give a chiropractor a try since his uncle was the first Korean ever to become a chiropractor in the world. He was examined, x-rayed, and his spine was “adjusted.” The adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. He received relief within a couple of visits. This is how he came to study chiropractic.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles, CA in 1989 along with his undergraduate degree in biology from Korea. After practicing in Los Angeles in California as an associate doctor for a year, he moved to Washington State and worked with another doctor as an associate for one more year in Renton, WA. After two years of associateship, Dr. Oh decided to open his own practice in Federal Way.
Dr. Oh focuses on family practice seeing all age group from infants to seniors and fluent in both English and Korean.
The Oh family belongs to Christ’s Church of Federal Way, where Dr. Oh is a member of the Celebration Choir. An active father of two, Jonah and Hannah, with his lovely wife Mischellie, Dr. Oh enjoys reading, boating, fishing, skiing and a good game of tennis. Mischellie is an accountant in the Federal Way School District. Jonah attends Surprise Lake Middle School and plays piano in the worship team in his church. Hannah attends Brooklake Christian Prep School and active in Christ’s Church children’s choir, piano and just about everything else that can be imagined! Both children have been adjusted regularly since birth and have been blessed with good health.
Dr. Oh, as Clinical Director of the Oh Family Chiropractic Center, specializes in posture restoration and correction with spinal adjustments and rehabilitative exercises. Dr. Oh attends a minimum of twenty-five hours of state-board approved courses per year to keep up with the latest research in the field of chiropractic. He selects continuing education seminars based on the needs of his patients. He has a particular interest in chiropractic techniques in posture correction.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” –Thomas A. Edison
